still the same

Still the Same

it’s funny how years can shape a place, and the memories, are never the same

like there’s a distance between, reality, and the way you’d hoped it would be

and your heart gets torn in two, and all you can do, is hold on tight,

or turn around, and leave this place behind

i always said I never wanted this place to change, and everything’s still the same

i always said I never wanted this place to change, and everything’s still the same

everything except me

and I never would’ve expected, to find myself where you’ll find me now

or to look back with so many mixed emotions, over some messed up little town

it would take the voice of God to bring me back, I’d have to hear it loud and clear

but sometimes when I hear a familiar song, I start wishing He’d whisper in my ear

i always said I never wanted this place to change, and everything’s still the same

i always said I never wanted this place to change, and everything’s still the same

everything except me

there’s a place burned deep inside me, that will always call this place my home

and I know home’s where the heart is, cause I left more behind than you know

but hopes and dreams can travel far, and love can turn a man upside-down

and I just hope no matter how much I change, there will always be a place for me in that town

may....may! where's july? where's the writing about how cool marriage is! that's gotta be a good source of material. a song about the runs may not make it to stage but it would stretch you creatively!
